Bodega Salentein was founded in 1996 by Dutch businessman Mijndert Pon. His vision: build an icon winery in Uco Valley combining wine, art and culture. The name comes from a Dutch castle of the Pon family. The winery is today one of Mendoza's most complete wine tourism destinations, with art gallery, chapel, lodge (Posada Salentein) and restaurant.

Salentein vineyards spread across four estates (San Pablo, Los Árboles, La Pampa, El Oasis) at altitudes from 1,050 to 1,700 meters. This diversity allows Salentein to produce from tense high-altitude Chardonnay to structured Malbec. Soils are alluvial with limestone stones and Andean influence is direct: dry mountain wind and marked temperature swings.

How much time is needed for the full visit?
The full experience (tour + Killka gallery + premium tasting + lunch) takes about 4 hours. With transfers from Mendoza city, the full day is 8 to 9 hours.
How is Killka and is it worth it?
Killka is Salentein's cultural center: contemporary art gallery, elegant café and restaurant. Exhibitions are museum-quality and rotate periodically. Absolutely worth it.
Do they offer on-site lodging?
Yes: Posada Salentein, a 16-room boutique hotel within the vineyards, with mountain views and spa service. Discovery Wine can coordinate the stay.
Is it accessible for reduced mobility?
