The architecture
that changed everything.

Zuccardi Valle de Uco has been named World's Best Vineyard three times by The World's 50 Best. Its concrete and stone building, designed by the family's third generation, is one of the most striking winery architectures globally. Its high-altitude Malbecs and the Concreto line have redefined what Uco Valley can express. Visiting is an experience that blends cutting-edge winemaking, cinematic landscape and contemporary design.

"Not just a winery: an aesthetic statement."

History & legacy

The house, its origin.

The Zuccardi family arrived in Mendoza from Italy in the 1950s. Don Alberto Zuccardi founded the winery in 1963, originally in Maipú. His son José Alberto internationalized the brand with modern vision. Sebastián Zuccardi, third generation, marks the turning point: in 2016 he opens the Piedra Infinita complex in Vista Flores and launches the Concreto line, wines vinified in concrete eggs without oak, redefining contemporary Argentine Malbec.

Terroir & vineyards

The place makes the wine.

Piedra Infinita is in Paraje Altamira, Uco Valley, at 1,100 meters altitude. Soils are alluvial with limestone stones and sandy pockets. The microclimate is extreme: temperature swings up to 25°C, dry Andean winds. Sebastián Zuccardi describes the place as "the perfect laboratory" for pure Malbec without makeup. Each parcel is vinified separately in their Aluvional line to show the individual soil.

Architecture & visit

The space where it happens.

The Piedra Infinita building, designed with local architects, was named World's Best Vineyard three times by The World's 50 Best (2019, 2020, 2023). It is a brutalist construction of concrete and stone extracted from the property itself. The barrel room sinks underground with natural overhead light. The Piedra Infinita Cocina restaurant, run by chef Juan Manuel Barberis, is one of the country's top winery restaurants.

Frequently asked

The questions we get most.

Where exactly is Zuccardi Valle de Uco?
In Paraje Altamira, San Carlos department. 1.5 hours from Mendoza city center via Tunuyán. There is another Zuccardi in Maipú (Santa Julia), but the iconic one is in Vista Flores, Uco Valley.
Is the Piedra Infinita Cocina lunch worth it?
Absolutely. It is one of the most photographed lunches in Argentine wine tourism. Open-fire cuisine, local ingredients, direct Andes view. We recommend booking well in advance.
Can I go and return in one day from Mendoza?
Yes. Distance is 1.5 hours each way. Discovery Wine arranges full-day tours with a Zuccardi visit + another Uco Valley winery + lunch, returning between 7 and 8 PM.
What is special about the concrete eggs?
Sebastián Zuccardi uses concrete egg vessels instead of oak barrels to vinify the Concreto line. This preserves the Malbec's pure fruit without adding oak aromas, showing the terroir unfiltered.
Is there lodging near Zuccardi?
Yes. The Vines Resort & Spa, Casa de Uco, La Morada and Auberge du Vin are top-tier boutique hotels less than 30 minutes from the winery. Discovery Wine can coordinate the full stay.
