"Let's build the itinerary they have in mind, but let's do it well." That's the principle behind Mendoza's personalized tours: instead of following an assembled circuit, designing a day to the traveler's measure.
In this guide we'll explain what exactly a personalized tour means, what advantages it has over standard tours and how a custom itinerary is built.
Standard tour vs. personalized tour: the real difference
Standard tour (group)
It's the tour appearing on mass websites: 8–20 people in minibus, fixed departure time, same route for everyone, same lunch. Functions as packaged product.
- Pro: most economical option in the market
- Con: no flexibility, predetermined wineries, group rhythm, pre-set lunch
Personalized tour (private)
It's just for your group, with comfortable vehicle, dedicated bilingual guide and an itinerary built according to your interests. The route is constructed before the trip, in dialogue with you.
- Pro: maximum flexibility, wineries of your choice, rhythm to your measure, personalized attention
- Con: greater investment than a group tour (varies by group size)
For a first approach, we recommend reading our guide to organizing a winery tour in Mendoza, where we explain in detail why we always recommend private options.
How a personalized tour is built
1. Previous conversation
The process begins with a conversation (via WhatsApp, email or call). The key questions:
- What type of traveler are you? Wine lover, novice, gourmet, curious?
- How many days do you have in Mendoza?
- What experiences interest you? Just wineries, or also mountain, gastronomy, adventure?
- Are there food restrictions?
- What wineries do you already know?
- Do you prefer popular places or more intimate experiences?
2. Itinerary proposal
With that information, a proposal is built. 2–3 wineries are chosen per day, lunch is thought (at winery, country restaurant, vineyard picnic) and optimal order is planned according to distances.
3. Reservations and coordination
Once the itinerary is approved, the agency handles all reservations: wineries, restaurant, hotel transfers, guide. The traveler arrives and just has to enjoy.
4. Tour day
Hotel pickup, comfortable vehicle (premium car for 2–3 people, Sprinter van for larger groups), bilingual guide accompanying all day. The flexibility of staying longer at a winery or changing plans on the spot is one of the great advantages.

How much does a personalized tour cost?
Price depends on several factors:
- Group size: cost per person decreases with more people
- Type of wineries: premium ones charge more for the visit
- Type of lunch: from light lunch to gourmet courses
- Vehicle: premium car, SUV, van
- Duration: half day, full day or several days
The cost per person decreases as the group grows: a couple pays more per person than a group of 4 to 6, which is the optimal size for private tours. VIP experiences with top wineries require greater investment. For an exact quote based on your plan, contact us via WhatsApp.
Common mistakes when building a personalized tour
- Mixing zones in the same day: Luján + Uco Valley in one day is bad idea due to distances.
- Overloading wineries: more than 3 saturates the palate and exhausts.
- Not considering lunch: a good winery lunch is central, not accessory.
- Ignoring time of year: in Vendimia wineries are more active; in autumn, landscapes are prettier.
- Booking late: top wineries require 30–90 days advance in high season.
